UTARC 2000 California QSO Party

N5XU participated in the California QSO Party on the weekend of 7-8 October, 2000. Ken Harker WM5R operated in the single-operator, high-power, all-band category, representing UT as a "school club."

"Prior commitments, including the excellent W5 DX Bash on Friday and Saturday, limited my operating time. Working up to 100 QSOs before the end of the contest was much more of a struggle than I anticipated. I don't understand why the contest finishes so early on Sunday, though. My rate was just starting to pick up as the evening approached."
