A photocopy of the original manual for almost every piece of radio equipment UTARC owns has been collected in several large, black three-ring binders sitting on the middle shelf of the bookcase in the club station. The binders are marked along the spine with appropriate titles like MF/HF Equipment, VHF/UHF Equipment, and Software. If you suspect trouble with any of the equipment, or you are uncertain how to access an obscure feature of a rig, or you just don't know how the radio works, the manual is a good first place to look. Also among these binders are software manuals and HOWTOs, including a manual for the TR LOG contesting software, and documentation about the Central Texas DX Clusters that should be reviewed before attempting to use the local PacketCluster. The AEA PK-900 manual is also sitting on the same shelf in its own grey, three-ring binder.
Original copies of the manuals that we have are all stored in the back room in a safe location. Please use the photocopies in the binders whenever possible.
