Storage

UTARC has two areas of storage at its ready disposal. The back half of the penthouse contains an air ventilation system used to ventilate a storage area in the building below. It is separated from the club station by a wall and a door. The areas around the ventilation system are used by the club for storage. There are a couple of sets of shelves and a small cupboard, as well as several cardboard boxes full of sorted and labelled electronic components. There are also twenty or so boxes of old issues of ham radio magazines stored in the back. Most of these are duplicates of the magazines in the bookshelf in the front room. Some of the empty boxes for our radios are also in storage. The other storage area UTARC has is the crawl space between the station and the roof of the penthouse. This area is exposed to the elements and the birds, so it is mainly used to store aluminum tubing and such. The bulkhead through which the antenna coax feeds into the shack is located here as well.
