WRW Wildlife

There is some wildlife living on the roof of WRW. During some summers, a hawk has laid a couple of eggs on the roof very near the roof access door (in the corner formed by the wall and the boardwalk just to the right of the door.) Naturally, members should refrain from disturbing the eggs. Bats are also known to roost on the roof of WRW. In particular, they roost in the small gaps between the top of the staircases and the penthouse walls. In the middle of the summer when new pups are born, you can hear the pups squeaking in the middle of the afternoon. At sunset in the middle of the summers, you can occasionally see bats flying around the roof of WRW. Please do not disturb the bats; if you wish to learn more about them, contact Derek Wills AA5BT, a very active member of the club who is also a member of Bat Conservation International and has helped release many bats trapped inside of buildings all over campus. Pigeons are also known to roost on the ledges of the building, and at least one mystery cricket has been seen on the roof.
