Last semester, UTARC put in a special request for funding to the University Co-op Society, which donates a portion of their revenue after cost to funding student scholarships and student organizations. We requested $1300.00 to purchase a Yaesu FT-847 transceiver. This radio would replace our current 50 MHz radio, and would be available for satellite use. The Co-op Society has elected to give our organization $800 toward the purchase of a new transceiver. This leaves a deficit of $500 to the purchase price.
We have some money available in our checking acount, but we will need additional funds and/or loans to make the purchase. We can sell the current 50 MHz radio to help defray the cost. We will discuss this at the next club meeting, and in the meantime, any members and/or alumni interested in helping out are encouraged to contact UTARC President Ken Harker WM5R at wm5r@arrl.net.
