Packet Radio Message Well Received!

[Ed. note: Johanna W5JLP and Louisa KB5LBN, have been keeping HF skeds with members of French club station F6KRK. Below is a report from F4UPG of a packet message received at F6KRK.]

Hello Johanna,

J'ai enfin bien recu ton message packet ! Ci-apres la copie, avec les ``headerlines.'' Tu vois tous les bbs par ou ce message est passe, avec les dates et heures. exemple : 010119/2254Z signifie 19/01/2001 (19 janvier), a 22h54 Z.

[I just received your packet message! Here is a copy, with the attached ``headerlines.'' You can see all of the BBSs through which the message was forwarded, with dates and times. For example: 010119/2254Z means 19/01/2001 (19 January) at 22h54Z.]

Comme tu le vois, le message a mis quelques heures pour atteindre la France, mais apres, il a ete bloque quelques jours entre des bbs francais, donc il aura mis 8 jours pour arriver jusqu'a F6KRK, c'est aussi lent qu'un message ecrit et envoye par voie postale :-((

[As you can see, the message took just a few hours to arrive in France, but after that, it was blocked for several days between French BBSs, so that it took 8 days to arrive at F6KRK. That's as slow as a written message sent via postal mail :-((]

Sinon je ne connais pas PK-Term 99, ca doit etre specifique au tnc PK-900. Mais l'ordinateur packet de N5XU, il est sous MsDos ou Windows?

Bonjour Michel !! Il est 9h57 du soir a Austin... C'est la premiere fois que j'envoie un message packet-radio This is really cool... J'espere que tu recoives mon message Ken vient de me montrer comment demarrer le fichier pour envoyer des messages packets, nous utilisons PK-Term 99 Vive le packet ! hihi quelle heure est-il en France ? :) A bientot sur l'air ou sur icq 73 + 88 Johanna W5JLP
