UTARC alumnus George Fremin III K5TR has begun building his own large contest station west of Dripping Springs, in the Texas Hill Country. Reportedly, concrete has been poured for five guyed towers, and one of the shorter towers has already been built. George has also built (literally) his own shack and garage, starting with a concrete slab a little over a year ago. Today, the new building is almost complete, and features a small bathroom with a shower, ceiling fan, wall-to-wall carpeting, heating, and air conditioning. Look for K5TR to be on the air in a big way by next fall.
