Things have been quite busy on the roof of WRW. The Department of Aerospace Engineering's satellite ground station is moving further toward completion (as the large dish antenna indicates.) I've been working a lot with these guys, and hopefully we will have the dish-system up and running in the next month or so.
As part of that project, their contractors went ahead and poured the slab for our second tower (a mirror installation on the east penthouse). This slab is for UTARC, which means that as soon as we get the tower segments and the base plate, we can start to arrange our own set up.
I'll be happy to give a report on Aerospace's efforts at our next meeting as well. Now that the dish hardware is in, I'll be working a lot with them to put a really solid satellite communications installation in for their operational programs. I think (and their advisor hopes) it will generate some more interest in the UTARC...
