The ARRL September VHF QSO Party is the weekend of 11-12 September 1999. The contest starts at 1:00 PM local time on Saturday and goes until 10:00 PM local time Sunday night. This year, we will be operating on a new band for the first time: 1.2 GHz!
The Belton Ham Expo will be the morning of October 2, this fall. The Belton hamfest is one of the largest in the central Texas area, and is just an hour north of Austin. If you are interested in going, but need a ride, please contact one of the club officers.
Fall is also time for the W5 DX Bash, October 8-9 this year, an annual gathering of HF DXers from all over the Fifth Call District. The Bash is held on a cattle ranch at the station of Bryan Edwards W5KFT, on the shore of Lake Buchanan, near Llano, TX.
