New Club Officers and Members

de N5XU

At the April, 2002 club meeting, the University of Texas Amateur Radio Club elected a new slate of officers for the 2002-2003 academic year. Our new president is Gary Raney KM5TY, an ecenomics junior who would like very much to be a EE junior, our new Vice-President is Trent Johnson K5TWJ, an MSEE candidate, and our returning Secretary is Louisa Preston KB5LBN, a senior in chemical engineering. Our outgoing President, Johanna Preston W5JLP, graduated last spring and should now be in France pursuing an advanced degree in chemical engineering at the Unviersity of Versailles. Monique Stinson NE5RO, our outgoing Vice-President, graduated with an MS in civil engineering, and has reportedly returned to her home town of Philadelphia.

New UTARC President, Gary Raney KM5TY.

UTARC's newest member is Ted Rappaport N9NB. Ted has recently joined the faculty of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, where his research specialty is wireless networking. Ted has been a ham since he was a teenager, and was active in contesting before a decade and a half long hiatus from the sport. He is interested in getting back into contesting, and has even operated N5XU in the most recent NCJ CW Sprint.
