UTARC in the 1980s - Page 1

In 1982 club members N5DRK (left) and gun-toting WB5NED (right) were ready for the frequency bandits during Field Day.
WB5NED (l) and WD5IYT (r) in the club station in the early 1980's.
In the equipment rack at right, the SO-238 patch panel and the 50MHz FM radio near the top continue to be a part of the club station, nearly twenty years after this photo was taken.
The funny looking orange circle to the left of WB5NED's head is a speaker, not a tambourine.
UTARC members raise an antenna Iwo Jima style at a Field Day site (1984?).
More Field Day photos. Apparently it was warm outside that day.
Are they working hard, or hardly working?
Note the wonderful view of Lake Travis.
KA5WSS and N5HPD operate the club station during the 1987 Phone Sweepstakes contest. The sheets on the wall are handy things to remember to say on the air. In fact, the sheet on the right says, "Frequency in use old man. I've been here for twenty minutes."
