UTARC 2004 New Tower
In fall, 2004, several UTARC members stacked and bracketed 40' of Rohn 45G
tower on the east penthouse of WRW. Additional progress awaits the purchase
of coax, rotor control cable, and antennas.

The first two sections of tower were bolted together and then lifted into place
on the base plate (itself bolted to the concrete pier.) The tower was then
bracketed in six places. Gary KM5TY begins putting on the brackets.

After all the brackets were put in place, the remaining two sections were stacked,
one at a time, using a heavy-duty gin pole. The team had planned to install the
rotor plate, rotor, and mast, but it turns out that we lacked the appropriate
U bolts for the rotor plate.
